We are so pleased that the partnership between the Association for Pentecostal Theological Education in Africa (APTEA) and Ministry Studies Online (MSO) makes possible this online program. We provide the courses which meet the educational requirements for APTEA certification in Levels 1 & 2.

We have an amazing team of content providers who serve as teaching professors…

Dr. Murriell McCulley

Dr. McCulley has served as an academic dean, the director of textbook production and distribution in Africa, an author of textbooks, and a principal. Many of the principles she shares have been successfully taught as she has traveled the continent of Africa conducting faculty development workshops. To many, she has become known as “a forceful voice of education in Africa.”

Dra. Elizabeth (Beth) Osland, B.A

Elizabeth (Beth) Osland and her husband, Rev. Harry Osland, have been missionaries with the Assemblies of God, USA, since 1987, after having a pastoral ministry in the USA. She served as Professor and Academic Secretary at Monte Esperança Biblical Institute in Portugal from 1990 until 2017. In 2005 the Oslands began ministering in the area of Christian Education (Bible and Theology) throughout the country of Angola, and since 2012 Dr. Beth has been involved full-time as Professor and Academic Secretary at the new Theological Faculty of the Pentecostal Assembly of God in Angola. She is also involved in the training of teachers: of the Sunday Bible School, of the Bible Institute of Angola, and of the Theological Faculty in Angola. Dr. Beth received a medical degree (analyst) from the University of North Dakota, and a second degree in Christian Education from Global University. The Oslands have two married children and three grandchildren.

Dr. Cécile bomboko

God is using Cécile to make an impact in the Democratic Republic of Congo and beyond. She and her husband run the extension sites of the École supérieure de théologie d'Afrique de l'Ouest in Kinshasha and Lubumbashi, DRC. They raise leaders to BA and MA levels. Cécile is also the Central African regional representative for the Association for Pentecostal Theological Education in Africa (APTEA). • LD220 Principles of Teaching:

Principles of Teaching is designed to equip students for effective teaching. Although many teachers in the church and in institutions of theological education are experts in the content to be taught, relatively few are trained to teach. This course equips prospective teachers for effective teaching. Three major purposes of the course are to help teachers do the following: (1) understand the concept of teaching for transformation, (2) recognize that learning is not automatic, and (3) apply the concept of teaching for transformation by providing practical examples to use in the classroom so that the lesson will be transferred to life. This course will also help teachers be more intentional in the classroom.

EDU320 Human Development and Learning Theories:

This course presents an introductory overview of major development and learning theories that have influenced education through the years. The number of such theories is far more than is possible to cover in a course of this nature. Therefore, the course will cover examples of each area of theory to give you an adequate overview of the whole. The goal of this course is to help you not only understand the content of the theories but to also examine how they came into existence and how they influence education. A major question to be addressed in the course is: how should educators deal with these theories? How should the theories affect classrooms today? It is believed that the more educators understand the learning process and human development, the more effective they will be able to teach. The course will look at theories from a wholistic biblical point of view.
